Gadget review: Amazfit GTS

The first thing I noticed about the Amazfit GTS is how supremely light it was on my wrist, the well-balanced smartwatch synced up with the supporting app in no time at all.

The AMOLED display stays bright and cheerful in sunlight and otherwise, with a gentle mellow vibrating notification feature far smoother than other smartwatches.

The watch was perfectly fine over a quick swim in the pool and behaved well in other wet simulations.

Having tried a multitude of smartwatches with singular monotonous boring display faces, I really appreciated the various watch face options Amazfit provides which are customisable too.

Amazfit had multiple offerings here including a few innovative options resembling high-end conventional watches.

By the second day of wear, I was starting to like this watch... a lot, It provided great metrics for walking, running and swimming.

With the multi-sport mode, I embarked on some stationary cycling and a few minutes on the Elliptical, results seemed satisfactory and motivating.

With regular use and HR always on I got about two weeks of battery life.

Notifications from calls, messages and emails turned up accurately and seamlessly.

Sleep tracking was great and provided in-depth info as it reminded me of what a light sleeper I really am.

There's even a compass and an Altimeter which looks stealthy cool.

Watch options include black, grey, and gold and strap options black and a bright Vermillion strap that looks insanely fun.

One thing to particularly note is its incredibly similar appearance to the Apple watch - this, in my opinion, adds to the value of Amazfit GTS as the Apple watch design is both aesthetic and functional and recognised universally.

Full marks for Amazfit for bringing out a feature-filled, quality-packed smartwatch that looks great, fits well and has a long battery life while being quite affordable.
